Job summary

Prime Healthcare Illinois Medical Group is seeking a Patient Services Representative in Chicago to manage appointment scheduling and coordinate information flow across clinical staff. You will verify insurance, obtain patient demographics, and maintain accurate records to support efficient patient care.

The role requires strong communication, computer skills, and experience in healthcare scheduling. Full-time hours, variety in shift times, and a comprehensive benefits package are provided.

Qualifications

• Requires collaboration and strong customer service with internal and external customers.
• Minimum 6 months scheduling/patient intake experience in healthcare.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Strong computer skills are required.
• Knowledge of standard insurance companies and verification requirements.
• Well versed in authorization processes for all payers.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet timelines.
• Courteous and professional communication with customers.
• Strong clerical and organizational skills for record keeping and scheduling.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• BLS (AHA) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Routinely schedules and coordinates patient appointments with providers.
• Manages flow of information to physicians, nursing staff and others to maintain operations.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits for appointments, procedures, or services.
• Obtains and verifies patient demographics and updates patient accounts as needed.
