Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of clerical experience in a medical office is required; related experience may be considered.
• Knowledge of medical office software and EPIC systems is required.
• Excellent verbal communication skills; able to work with changing priorities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and complete registration, demographics and insurance in the EMR.
• Verify and update patient information, collect co-pays and balances.
• Schedule appointments based on needs and provider availability.
• Complete patient check-out, verify charges and reconcile daily payments.
• Resolve billing issues and denial notices with billing, coding and revenue cycle teams.
• Provide information and respond to registration, insurance and billing questions.
• Answer phones and perform general clerical duties as needed.
• Identify process improvements with teammates and support practice goals.
• Deliver an exceptional patient experience with clear communication and empathy.
