Job summary

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA) is seeking a Patient Services Coordinator for a contract assignment in Oakland, CA. You will schedule diagnostic and interventional imaging, validate referrals and authorizations, and assist patients with appointments and directions.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, experience with imaging scheduling, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Previous Epic experience is preferred.

Qualifications

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Patient Services Coordinator for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Healthcare clients in Oakland, CA .

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the scheduling and coordination of diagnostic and interventional imaging patients while validating eligibility and authorization prior to care.
• Validate referrals/orders
• Follows customer services guidelines in greeting and assisting patient with appointments, directions, and scheduling
• Takes information from emergency calls, stat request for imaging, troubleshooting for patients, providers and inter departments coordination for patient care in imaging and answer general inquiries.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two years (or equivalent) of full time clerical experience.
• Imaging / clinical scheduling
• Epic experience
• Basic analytical, problem solving skills.
• Basic knowledge in Medical Terminology, ICD-10 CPT codes, eligibility and Authorizations standards for diagnostic and interventional imaging exams and procedures.
• In depth knowledge of different laboratory values with ability to correspond appropriate lab values with appropriate imaging procedures.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Correct business English, including spelling, grammar and punctuation.
• Current office administrative practices and procedures.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of individuals from various socioeconomic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Good interpersonal, organizational, prioritization, time management skills.
