Job summary

Knox Public Health is seeking a Patient Services Representative to be the first point of contact for patients. You will assist with check-in, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and patient information management, collaborating with medical, dental, and behavioral health teams.

The role emphasizes friendly, organized support, confidentiality, and efficient patient flow in a multi-disciplinary setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide friendly, professional assistance
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments
• Collect patient information and keep demographic information up to date
• Manage check-in and check-out
• Verify insurance eligibility and collect applicable co-pays and balances
• Provide forms, instructions, and other information patients may need
• Answer upcoming phone calls and route calls appropriately
• Relay patient messages and assist with appointment follow-up
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Scan/upload documents into patient records
• Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements
