Job summary

CORA Physical Therapy in the Knoxville area is seeking a Patient Services Coordinator to support multiple clinics. You’ll greet patients, coordinate front desk operations, and ensure a positive first impression through friendly, professional service.

This role handles calls, insurance verification, payment processing, referrals, and paperwork in a fast-paced outpatient setting. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, strong communication, and comfort with Microsoft Word and Excel;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Recent customer service experience required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
• Reliable, honest, and adaptable in fast-paced team environments.
• Preferred: Healthcare office experience, basic medical terminology, and fluency in Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and build rapport through in-person and phone interactions.
• Screen and answer incoming calls promptly; take messages and relay information as needed.
• Verify outpatient therapy insurance benefits and advise patients of financial responsibilities such as co-pays, deductibles, or co-insurance.
• Manage incoming physician referrals and prescriptions; communicate first visit expectations to new patients.
• Scan insurance cards, ID cards, and relevant paperwork into patient files.
• Collect co-pays and deductibles, provide receipts, balance daily collections, and submit charges to the Clinic Manager.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming clinic environment; sanitize spaces according to CDC guidelines.
