Job summary

Northfield Hospital + Clinics is seeking a Patient Services Representative to be the friendly first point of contact in Rehabilitation Services. You will handle registrations, scheduling, insurance verification, and chart preparation, ensuring accurate data entry and timely patient care while maintaining a welcoming lobby.

The role emphasizes clerical accuracy, communication with clinicians and patients, and supporting efficient clinic operations without direct patient care.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience with keyboarding/data entry (speed and accuracy).
• Able to relate to clients of all ages professionally.
• Fast-paced work style with attention to detail and multitasking.
• Able to read and understand written instructions.
• Team player who cooperates respectfully with coworkers.
• Prior front desk/admin experience, preferably healthcare.
• Knowledge of medical/rehabilitation terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, visitors, employees, and other customers.
• Answer phones, screen calls, and take messages.
• Register patients and verify insurance information.
• Schedule appointments and manage cancellations/reschedules.
• Prepare and keep charts and documentation up to date.
• Maintain neat reception area and provide directions.
• Assist with transportation needs and patient flow.
• Process mail and distribute documents.
• Review charges and build clinician schedules in Meditech.
