Job summary

Brooks Rehabilitation seeks a Patient Service Representative to deliver premium service for outpatient visits. You will greet patients and visitors, schedule therapy appointments, verify referrals and insurance, and prepare registration packets for the first visit.

You will also generate routine reports, liaise with the Billing Office, collect payments, balance cash, and maintain a tidy, efficient front desk in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of customer service experience required, healthcare experience preferred.
• Medical terminology is a plus.
• Basic understanding of insurance and authorizations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors upon arrival.
• Schedules therapy appointments, including cancellations or rescheduling.
• Verifies referrals and insurance information and works with CIU for urgent verifications.
• Prepares registration packets for initial visits and ensures paperwork is uploaded correctly.
• Generates daily, weekly, and monthly reports as directed by management.
• Serves as clinic liaison with Business Office regarding billing issues on active accounts.
• Collects patient payments, provides receipts, and balances day in cash drawer.
• Performs light cleaning and maintains waiting area cleanliness.
