Job summary

You will verify referrals and insurance, prepare registration packets, confirm paperwork in the system, log referrals, and serve as the clinic liaison with the Business Office on billing issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of customer service experience.
• Medical terminology is a plus.
• Basic understanding of insurance and authorizations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, including proper telephone etiquette and in-person interactions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure.
• Demonstrates empathy and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors upon arrival.
• Schedules therapy appointments, including cancellations and/or rescheduling.
• Verifies referrals and/or insurance information; collaborates with CIU for urgent verifications as needed.
• Prepares registration packets for the initial visit.
• Confirms all paperwork and verification information is uploaded properly to the system.
• Confirms valid physician orders prior to scheduling return visits.
• Orders supplies, maintains inventory, and stocks the clinic.
• Performs light cleaning to keep waiting areas tidy.
• Provides general office support (filing, copying, faxing).
• Creates new medical record projects in Image Now upon admission and collects needed forms and orders.
• Generates daily, weekly, and monthly reports as requested by management.
• Serves as the clinic liaison with the Business Office regarding billing issues with active accounts.
• Prepares end-of-day summaries and deposit information.
• Collects patient payments and processes deposits.
• Checks and responds to work-related voicemail and email in a timely manner.
• Logs referrals and tracking in the Referral Database.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Exhibits the values of the organization.
