Job summary

Venice Family Clinic is seeking a Patient Service Representative to provide front desk support, register patients, and coordinate appointments. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment near the Westside of Los Angeles.

You will handle check-in/out, insurance information, and daily cash handling while using EHR/EDR systems. Applicants should have allied healthcare reception experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in front office reception in allied healthcare.
• Knowledge of dental/medical terminology.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to optimize efficiency.
• Knowledge of policies and procedures regarding release of medical records.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Take initiative in providing excellent customer service to patients.
• Ability to stay composed when confronted by difficult patients or situations.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and EHR/EDR systems.

Responsibilities

• Provides customer service oriented administrative support to patients, staff, and clinicians.
• Completes patient registration, including demographics and payer/insurance information.
• Schedules and coordinates new and follow up patient appointments and cancellations.
• Checks in and checks out patients, ensuring a smooth flow from arrival to discharge.
• Collects insurance cards, payments, and balances daily cash drawers.
• Answers phones and triages calls.
• Scans and uploads records to the electronic health record, sorts and distributes mail and faxes.
• Processes tasks in the EHR system daily.
• Provides additional backup administrative support as assigned.
