Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficient typing and telephone communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients and collects demographic, consent and insurance information for entry into the computer.
• Scans demographic data, photo IDs, insurance cards and forms into the chart.
• Supports electronic signatures for consents via electronic device.
• Performs Insurance Verification calls to carriers as needed.
• Answers calls and directs messages to the appropriate recipient.
• Schedules patient appointments in the EMR and confirms preferences.
• Manages appointment confirmations and manual confirmations as needed.
• Collects co-pays and payments; prepares payments for the billing dept within 3 days.
• Maintains patient charts daily and ensures privacy and security per hospital policies.
