Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience in a healthcare setting.
• Associate's degree in business or healthcare (preferred).
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors in a cordial and friendly manner and directs them to the appropriate department.
• Registers new and established patients, inputs all pertinent information and obtains consent for release of records.
• Collects insurance co-pays and sliding fee payments at the time of visit; collects on past due balances.
• Verifies health benefits (Medicaid/Medicare/commercial) for coverage of services.
• Schedules appointments and manages follow-up visits, communicating wait times to patients.
