Job summary

Rush University Medical Center in Louisville, KY (Kids-Middletown) is seeking a Patient Service Specialist to greet patients at the front desk, register them, and help orient them to what to expect during their visit and their next appointment.

This full-time, weekday position involves scheduling, collecting co-pays, handling payer approvals, and coordinating with insurers, attorneys, translation services, and the care team to ensure a smooth patient experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 year front desk experience.
• Insurance verification experience.
• 1 year medical office experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients; inform them about visit expectations and next appointment at checkout.
• Schedule patient appointments in person and via phone.
• Communicate with attorneys, insurers, translation services, market operational leaders and business development team.
• Collect co-pays from patients, manage payer approvals, and conduct insurance verifications.
