Job summary

Rush University Medical Center in Stow, OH (3903 Darrow Road) is seeking a Patient Service Specialist to warmly welcome patients at the front desk and manage the patient flow and related business tasks.

You will greet and register patients, schedule appointments, collect co-pays, verify insurance, and coordinate with offices to ensure accurate information and a smooth visit. This full-time role includes evenings and a schedule from Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Preferred: 1 year front desk experience.
• Preferred: Healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients and provide information about what to expect during their visit and information about their next appointment as they check out
• Schedule patient appointments in person and via phone
• Regular communication with parties such as attorney offices, insurance companies and translation companies, market operational leaders, and business development team
• Collect co-pays from patients, manage payer approvals, and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications
