Job summary

Summit Health seeks a Patient Service Representative to float among Clifton, Fair Lawn, Montclair, Glen Ridge, and Nutley locations. You will greet patients, manage registrations, and handle calls with a focus on excellent service.

The role requires high school completion, preferred associate degree, and strong English communication. Experience with EHR and practice management systems is a plus, with emphasis on accuracy and multitasking.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• Associate Degree preferred.
• Previous PSR experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills required.
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks timely.
• Knowledge of medical office terminology preferred.
• Experience with EHR/Practice Management Systems preferred.
• Must communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and direct them professionally.
• Register patients and manage efficient patient flow.
• Answer calls, take messages, and route to the right staff.
• Notify patients of delays and assist comfort during waits.
• Process self-pay charges, collect payments, and reconcile daily.
• Enter and scan insurance info; update demographics and forms.
• Schedule appointments and manage waitlists per guidelines.
• Coordinate pre-authorizations and referrals as needed.
