Job summary

Mercy South Clinic Ob/Gyn in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Patient Service Representative to be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, supporting front-desk operations and clinic workflows.

The role includes verifying patient identity, handling check-in/out, answering calls, and basic clerical tasks in EPIC. You will schedule appointments, provide Good Faith Estimates, manage billing and payments, and maintain accurate records while upholding privacy and safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with clinic software and EPIC is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients; verify identity and manage check‑in/check‑out.
• Answer phones and perform clerical tasks including Epic charting, scanning, faxing, and document handling.
• Schedule appointments, procedures, and testing; provide timely estimates and Good Faith Estimates.
• Monitor provider schedules, communicate delays, and coordinate with staff to ensure efficient clinic flow.
• Maintain accurate registration, EHRs, and assigned work queues.
• Handle patient concerns professionally and escalate as needed.
• Manage daily cash drawer, accounts receivable tasks, and payment plans.
• Support EPIC updates, departmental initiatives, and clinic communications.
• Maintain a safe, clean reception area and adhere to privacy and infection control policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The PSR also supports the financial aspects of the patient encounter by communicating applicable patient financial responsibility, requesting and collecting payment, explaining available payment options and assistance resources, and accurately documenting financial conversations and outcomes.

Location: 10004 Kennerly Road, Suite 230A, St. Louis, MO 63128

Schedule: Full Time (40 hrs per week/1.0 FTE), Monday - Friday

Qualifications:

• Education : High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience : Customer service experience preferred
