Job summary

Mercy South Clinic Ob/Gyn seeks a Patient Service Representative to be the first contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a seamless experience while handling front-desk operations and financial conversations.

You will greet and register patients, manage check-in/out, coordinate appointments, and support Epic charting and payment processes with accuracy and professionalism.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients; verify identity and manage check-in/out.
• Answer phones and perform clerical tasks including Epic charting, scanning, faxing, and document handling.
• Schedule appointments, procedures, and testing; provide timely estimates and Good Faith Estimates.
• Monitor provider schedules, communicate delays, and coordinate with staff to ensure efficient clinic flow.
• Maintain accurate registration, EHRs, and assigned work queues.
• Handle patient concerns professionally and elevate as needed.
• Manage daily cash drawer, accounts receivable tasks, and payment plans.
• Support EPIC updates, departmental initiatives, and clinic communications.
• Maintain a safe, clean reception area and adhere to safety, privacy, and infection control policies.

The PSR also supports the financial aspects of the patient encounter by communicating applicable patient financial responsibility, requesting and collecting payment, explaining available payment options and assistance resources, and accurately documenting financial conversations and outcomes.

Schedule

Full Time (40 hrs per week/1.0 FTE), Monday - Friday

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Customer service experience preferred
