Job summary

Mercy in St. Louis seeks a Patient Service Representative at the South Clinic Ob/Gyn to greet, register, and verify patient identity. You will handle front-desk operations, scheduling, and EPIC data entry while guiding patients through billing conversations and Good Faith Estimates.

The role is full-time, Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week, with a focus on compassionate care, accuracy, and efficient clinic flow in a busy outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Familiarity with EPIC and basic computer tasks.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients; verify identity and manage check‑in/check‑out
• Answer phones and perform clerical tasks including Epic charting, scanning, faxing, and document handling
• Schedule appointments, procedures, and testing; provide timely estimates and Good Faith Estimates
• Monitor provider schedules, communicate delays, and coordinate with staff to ensure efficient clinic flow
• Maintain accurate registration, EHRs, and assigned work queues
• Handle patient concerns professionally and elevate as needed
• Manage daily cash drawer, accounts receivable tasks, and payment plans
• Support EPIC updates, departmental initiatives, and clinic communications
• Maintain a safe, clean reception area and adhere to safety, privacy, and infection control policies
• Perform other duties as assigned
