Madison Medical Affiliates in Milwaukee seeks a Patient Service Representative II to be the first contact for patients, supporting clinic standards in the Internal Medicine department. This full‑time role reports to the Clinic Supervisor/Regional Director of Clinic Operations and is based in Downtown Milwaukee.
You will schedule appointments, verify insurance, obtain prior authorizations, document patient information, and assist the care team with follow‑up testing.
A Patient Service Representative II is the first line of contact between Patients and our Clinics and Physicians. The Patient Service Representative II follows Madison Medical standards of practice, policies and procedures and supports the philosophy by incorporating them into the clinic. This full time position reports to the Clinic Supervisor/Regional Director of Clinic Operations, is within the Internal Medicine department, and is located in Downtown Milwaukee, WI.
Demonstrates professionalism and excellent customer service, communication and patient assistance both in person and on the phone.
Schedules patient appointments timely and manages physician's schedule according to their preferences, performs reminder calls.
Answers the telephone, screens calls and takes messages from patients and processes as directed by MD.
Documents patient information in their record appropriately and accurately, works with others on the care team to acquire additional documentation if needed.
Verifies insurance and ensures registration and payer information is correct and current.
Monitors and corrects registration errors, uses insurance websites when needed to confirm patient eligibility.
Obtain prior authorizations (radiology and/or medication) using web based applications or via phone.
Assists patient in scheduling any follow up testing (radiology, lab, or specialist)
Prepares correspondence to physicians and patients.
Performs other duties as assigned
High School Diploma or GED
Strong data entry skills and ability to work with computer applications
Organized with a strong attention to detail in a fast paced environment
Strong and comfortable communicating with patients, peers, and physicians
Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and with co-workers in a team
Demonstrated ability to work with confidential information.
