Job summary

Madison Medical in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the physician with rooming, vitals, injections, and point-of-care testing in an OBGYN setting.

The role reports to the Clinic Supervisor/Assistant Director of Clinic Operations and involves duties across two Milwaukee clinics, Monday–Friday, with no weekends or holidays. Strong patient communication and EHR proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program, or military equivalent, or demonstrated skills for at least one year.
  • Current Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Strong data entry skills and ability to work with computer applications.
  • Organized with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication with patients, peers, and physicians.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to exam room, complete brief history, obtain vital signs.
  • Stay current on EHR changes and document in patient records.
  • Ensure timely care; manage calls/messages; check EHR and email regularly.
  • Organize exam rooms; maintain a clean, safe, stocked environment.
  • Administer routine medications, including immunizations and antibiotics.
  • Provide basic patient education.
  • Refill medications or obtain prior authorizations per MD protocols.
  • Schedule appointments as needed.

Medical Assistant

A Medical Assistant provides quality patient care by assisting the physician with clinic specific tasks, including rooming, vitals, injections, and point of care testing and treatment. The Medical Assistant follows Madison Medical specific standards of practice, policies and procedures. This full time position reports to the Clinic Supervisor/Assistant Director of Clinic Operations, is within the OBGYN specialty, and is located between two clinics in Milwaukee, WI

What You’ll Do:
  • Escorts patients to exam room as scheduled, completes brief history through appropriate documentation, and obtains accurate vital signs.
  • Stays current on electronic health records (EHR) changes and ensures appropriate and effective documentation in patient records.
  • Ensures excellent and timely care for patients – manages phone calls and messages efficiently, checks EHR and email regularly.
  • Organizes and prepares exam rooms and maintains a clean, safe, and well stocked environment.
  • Administers routine medications, including: immunizations, antibiotics, pain medications, vitamins and topical agents.
  • Provides basic patient education.
  • Refills medications or obtains prior authorizations according to MD protocols or as directed by physician
  • Schedules appointments as needed.

  • Current Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required

  • Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and with co-workers in a team
