Job summary

Madison Medical Affiliates in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Patient Service Representative to be the first point of contact in our clinics. This full-time position reports to the Clinic Supervisor/Regional Director of Operations and supports the philosophy by incorporating policies into the clinic.

Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm. You will greet patients, check in/out, schedule visits, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and maintain a professional, welcoming lobby environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong data entry skills.
• Organized with a strong attention to detail in a fast paced environment.
• Strong and comfortable communicating with patients, peers, and physicians.
• Ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner, performs patient check in and check out processes.
• Answers incoming phone calls, screens calls, and takes messages and/or facilitates completion of call. Performs reminder calls prior to appointments.
• Schedules patients according to provider protocol.
• Completes patient registration and checks insurance eligibility for every patient to ensure payer information is correct and current.
• Collects co-pays and prior balances from patients at the time of their visit.
• Prepares charts for patient visits.
• Process insurance (wrong insurance, no insurance) reports monthly.
• Maintains work area and lobby in a neat and orderly manner.
• Works with physicians and other staff to acquire additional information to achieve document completeness.
• Demonstrates professionalism and excellent customer service, communication and patient assistance both in person and on the phone.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
