Qualifications

• Provide efficient, effective, quality customer service and practice support
• Perform general office duties including scheduling, coding, registration, and billing
• Maximize revenues by collecting payment at time of service
• Enter accurate and up-to-date billing information into the patient accounting system
• Assist clinical staff in maintaining accurate medical records
• Provide service to patients arriving for appointments or requesting appointments or information by telephone or in person
• Respond to questions about tests and procedures, bills and charges, referrals, and other matters
• Enter billing information for patients and payers at time of service
• Follow up on missing billing information
• Uphold standards for accurate and timely medical records
• Float between Urology, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, and Women's Health departments

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of two years related customer service experience
• Health care experience preferred
• Experience handling difficult callers/customers/patients
• Ability to function in a high volume, multiple-task environment
• Ability to work in a crowded or closely shared workspace
• Ability to work under stressful conditions with demanding customers
• Must lift up to 35 pounds without help
