Coastal Urgent Care in Louisiana is seeking a Patient Service Representative to join a patient-focused team. You will greet patients, assist with check-in, registration, and document handling, while ensuring accurate billing and confidential information handling.

The role emphasizes strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to triage walk-ins for potential emergencies, with benefits and opportunities for growth within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year of customer service experience preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients in a friendly, supportive manner.
• Check patients in for appointments and scan documents into charts.
• Assist with registration forms and distribute medical records.
• Collect and post copayments and balances; balance cash drawer daily.
• Inform patients of care costs and collect required fees.
• Assess walk-in traffic for potential emergencies.
• Communicate patient needs to clinical staff.
• Answer phones professionally and route calls appropriately.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Keep reception and waiting areas clean and sanitized.
• Provide coverage for medical records and prior authorizations as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
