Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists, PC in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Patient Service Representative to be the first face patients see. You will greet patients, check them in, and help set a positive tone from entry.

Salary Range: $16.10 To $25.10 Hourly

We are looking for a Patient Service Representative to join our team! We're looking for an outgoing, welcoming Patient Service Representative to be the first face our patients see! In this front desk role, you'll greet patients as they arrive, check them in, and help set the tone for a positive experience from the moment they walk through our doors.

Responsibilities

• General reception to include greeting patients and answering phone
• Check-in patients and verify appointment and billing information
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-pays and co-insurance
• Review paperwork for completeness
• Review benefits with patient
• Review missed appointment policy with patient
• Set-up FOTO Intake Survey
• Check-out patients and schedule follow-up appointments per the clinician’s instructions
• Assist Clinical staff with follow-up FOTO status surveys
• Assist Central Billing Office (CBO) with Medical Records Request per Policy & Procedure
• Monitor/Track Plans of Care (POC’s) for Certification
• Scan documentation, prescriptions, protocols, flow sheets, HEP’s, and other information into the patient (electronic) medical records
• Maintain Active Patient statistics and scheduled appointments
• Other responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of two years of experience in customer service setting, preferably one year receptionist experience in a medical office.
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience working with an EMR/PM required;
• Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills;
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail;
• Quick thinker with ability to pivot in a fast-paced environment;
• Ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment is a must;
