Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Medical Scheduler to support the scheduling of follow-up visits, tests, and procedures for patients across ages. The role involves coordinating pre-certifications, communicating instructions, and ensuring accurate data via Allscripts and Centricity systems.

You will interact directly with patients, maintain HIPAA confidentiality, and support the healthcare team with efficient scheduling and timely communications.

Responsibilities

• Schedule follow up/return visits for patients.
• Obtain appropriate pre-certification and pre-authorizations, as needed.
• Schedule medical tests and procedures for patients.
• Discuss patient instructions for procedures so patients understand expectations.
• Call patients to schedule procedures and send follow-up instructions.
• Use Allscripts, Centricity Business, and online paging systems; retrieve information from other hospital systems.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality for all patient matters.
• Exhibit friendly and helpful behavior.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
