Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associates degree preferred.
• Two years of medical office or medical insurance experience.
• Clear, courteous and pleasant communication with proper grammar and tone.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Able to type 25 words per minute.
• Scheduling or hospital registration experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients by phone or in person to schedule and register.
• Verify benefits/eligibility and collect co-pays where appropriate.
• Communicate patient financial responsibilities with a patient-friendly approach.
• Obtain authorizations when assigned and use price estimation tools.
• Coordinate scheduling to ensure efficient use of clinical resources and high patient satisfaction.
