Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills. Strong verbal and written communications skills required.
• Two (2) years related experience in a call center, patient registration, patient accounts, or patient billing preferred.
• Experience in third party insurance and insurance terminology, CPT, and ICD-9 codes preferred

Aufgaben

• Greets all customers in a courteous and professional manner and supports the facility customer service goals.
• Answers telephones courteously and transfers calls or takes messages as appropriate.
• Assists in handling various patient financial matters.
• Schedules tests as ordered by a physician or through scheduling software.
• Maintains documentation for regulatory compliance and collects insurance cards and IDs.
• Obtains authorization information from insurances via their website.
• Monitors scheduling work-lists to ensure timely scheduling and verification.
• Provides patients and physicians with pre-procedure instructions.
• Communicates with insurance companies to determine benefits, gather pre-authorizations, and prorate bills for proper reimbursement.
• Maintains organized work area and coordinates imaging sub-sections for smooth traffic flow.
• Keeps all parties informed of delays and follows up on affected patients.
• Keeps CPT and ICD-10 knowledge current and accurate in orders.
• Reconciles daily charges and corrects charging information.
• Performs closing procedures including daily charges, Epic log, and credit card reconciliations.
• Manages CD and film requests with HIPAA guidelines.
• Maintains supplies and patient records in an organized fashion.
• Distributes final reports to ordering doctors.
• Serves as liaison to patient, guarantor, insurer, and physician offices for approvals.
• Enters pre-authorization docs into Radiology Management Systems (RMS).
• Reviews pre-authorization denial reports for accuracy.
• Assists in other MIF department areas as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
