Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare's Medical Imaging of Frederickburg is seeking a patient access/registration coordinator who will verify insurance, schedule imaging, collect co-pays, and support day-to-day front desk operations.

You will greet patients, handle calls, enter orders, maintain records, and coordinate with insurance companies to obtain pre-authorizations and ensure accurate billing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills. Strong verbal and written communications skills required.
• Two (2) years related experience in a call center, patient registration, patient accounts, or patient billing preferred.
• Experience in third party insurance and insurance terminology, CPT, and ICD-9 codes preferred

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a courteous and professional manner and provide excellent customer service.
• Answer telephones promptly and professionally; screen and transfer calls as needed.
• Assist in handling various patient financial matters and collect payments.
• Schedule tests as ordered by a physician using scheduling software.
• Maintain documentation for compliance and collect insurance cards and valid IDs.
