Job summary

One GI is seeking a Patient Scheduling Representative in Lansdowne, VA to manage referrals, demographics, and insurance details. The role is full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with no nights or weekends.

You will schedule office visits and procedures, update physician notes, and communicate with staff to ensure smooth patient flow. Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or equivalent and prior medical office experience; knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; medical terminology coursework preferred.
• Previous medical office experience strongly preferred; training beneficial.
• One year of experience as medical assistant/secretary/health unit coordinator or related role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Update referral, demographic, and insurance information in the practice management database.
• Schedule office and procedure visits per physician parameters; update entries in the system.
• Communicate scheduling needs and provide patient education for procedures.
• Call preparation prescriptions to pharmacy when patient cannot receive by mail.
• Notify referring physicians of appointments or scheduling updates; coordinate with clinical staff.
