Job summary

AdventHealth in Port Orange, FL is seeking a dedicated Patient Access/Scheduling specialist for a full-time Day shift role. You will facilitate registration and scheduling for outpatient appointments, coordinate with departments, and ensure accurate data capture to support efficient patient throughput.

Responsibilities include notifying physician offices of non-covered appointments, arranging precertifications, documenting information for ongoing care, and contributing to team discussions.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv required.
• 1+ year in a medical setting with coding, charge entry and payment collection preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates patient registration and scheduling for outpatient appointments.
• Communicates with registration and ancillary departments to ensure accurate capture and throughput.
• Schedules patient appointments and notifies physician offices of possible non-covered appointments.
• Facilitates precertification for outpatient clinics and documents information for care.
