OrthoConnecticut is seeking a Call Center Representative/Medical Receptionist to schedule patients and manage registrations for multiple physicians. The role includes handling insurance information, precertifications, and routine switchboard duties in a fast-paced orthopedic environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in call center or medical receptionist roles.
• Ability to schedule appointments and register patients accurately.
• Knowledge of insurance basics and precertification processes.

Responsibilities

• Schedule new patients for all physicians in accordance with core schedule and on‑call schedule.
• Follow protocol pertaining to any daily changes in physician’s schedule.
• Thoroughly and accurately complete patient registration, including insurance information.
• Enter reasons for appointment, insurance requirements and eligibility data.
• Verify PCP and referring physician; review eligibility reports for actives.
• Maintain patient logs for tracking daily registration activities.
• Handle pre-certification/authorization with EMR entries and follow up on orders.
• Provide courteous and efficient call handling; route calls to correct extensions.
• Open and close the switchboard according to procedures.
