Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• At least one year of work experience in a medical office setting.
• Knowledge of medical office procedures and insurance verification.
• Ability to demonstrate a mature, dependable, and responsible approach when interacting with patients and staff.
• Understands referral requirements of major third party payers.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and maintain attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients in a prompt, pleasant manner and collect/sign in as needed.
• Verify and update demographic and insurance information; enter data into Centricity.
• Ensure assignment of benefits by obtaining guarantor signatures.
• Provide HIPAA brochure receipt acknowledgment to patients.
• Assist patients with medical history forms and scheduling needs.
• Collect co-pays and outstanding balances; process receipts and batch payments.
