Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a patient-focused Food Service Associate to manage meal orders, deliver patient trays, and document diet orders according to physician instructions. You will interact with patients, nurses, and dietitians to ensure accurate meals and timely service.

The role requires strong food service knowledge and customer service skills, with ability to multitask and communicate clearly in a hospital setting. On-site work with standard hospital hours is expected.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge in food service from a hospital, restaurant or related environment.
• Excellent customer service and communication to interact with diverse people.
• Ability to multitask, greet patients, place orders and troubleshoot issues.
• Must read and understand written and oral communications.
• Self-directed, able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Serve as key contact between food and nutrition and patients per scripts and standards.
• Deliver meals, collect trays and ensure patient satisfaction with food items.
• Record intake for calories and document allergies and diet orders in patient records.
• Process diet changes and balance nutrients using order specs and allergies.
• Communicate patient needs to food, nutrition and nursing teams.
