Job summary

Advocate Health in Chicago is seeking a dedicated Food Service Assistant to support patient meals and dietary services. You will prepare service lines for meals, assemble patient trays, and deliver orders to nursing units with accuracy and timeliness.

You will maintain cleanliness, assist with dishroom duties, manage supplies, and participate in inservice programs while following HACCP standards. The role requires physical stamina and ability to lift up to 35 pounds as needed.

Qualifications

• 2-3 weeks of job training
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly
• Ability to communicate effectively by phone

Responsibilities

• Informs customers of services available and assists with service requests
• Prepare service lines for meal service and service customers
• Prepares patient tray line and assembles trays as assigned
• Delivers routine food orders to nursing units
• Assembles patient nourishments as ordered
• Requisitions and stores necessary supplies
• Cleans and maintains assigned work areas and dishroom duties
• Follows sanitation and HACCP standards and participates in inservice programs
