Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Registration Representative to accurately check-in and register patients in a hospital/ED environment. You will verify demographic and insurance data, create patient accounts, and collect required co-pays.

This role requires excellent communication and the ability to guide patients through forms and processes. The position emphasizes patient safety, proper consent, and may involve assisting with Medicaid applications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively.
• Basic computer/keyboard skills and intermediate mathematical competency.
• Good written and verbal communication, phone etiquette and handling skills.
• Experience with scheduling systems is preferred.
• HFMA certification preferred if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately in hospital/ED settings via in-person, phone, or virtual methods.
• Verify demographics and insurance data; create or identify patient accounts.
• Obtain signatures and provide forms; collect co-pays as required.
• Ensure patient safety with positive identification and required consents.
• Assist with hospital presumptive eligibility or Medicaid applications as needed.
