Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of customer service experience or 1 year in a healthcare setting.
• Computer and typing proficiency.
• Must interact with a diverse patient/customer base.
• Must successfully pass required training in two attempts or less.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients to obtain demographic and insurance information.
• Guides patients through registration to ensure accurate scheduling and financial clearance.
• Determines and collects patient financial liability and arranges financial counseling when needed.
• Interprets physician orders for testing or admission criteria.
• Scans insurance cards and pertinent documentation.
• Performs insurance eligibility verification and payor requirements.
• Secures signatures for timely reimbursement and ensures consent forms.
• Reviews daily schedule to anticipate and resolve problems.
