Job summary

Munson Healthcare in Petoskey is seeking a Medical Business Specialist (Receptionist) to be the first point of contact for patients and families. You will verify insurance information and enter data into the registration system, and you will schedule appointments and greet patients professionally in person and by phone.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED. Associate Degree Preferred.
• A minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Medical Practice Business Associate or working in a similar healthcare role.
• Proficient in typing, Windows, and experience with multiple computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for patients and their families, providing a welcoming and efficient experience.
• Obtain/verify all required patient and insurance information and enter it accurately into the registration system.
• Schedule patient appointments, including return visits, referrals, and testing/procedures.
• Greet patients professionally in person and over the phone and set the tone for the visit.
