Job summary

Munson Healthcare - Petoskey Urgent Care Clinic is seeking a Medical Business Specialist (Receptionist) to be the first contact for patients and families. You will verify insurance information and enter data into the registration system, schedule appointments and tests, and greet patients professionally in person and by phone to set a welcoming tone.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with an associate degree preferred, and at least two years in a medical practice business or

Qualifications

High school graduate or GED; associate degree preferred.
Minimum 2 years' experience in medical practice business or related healthcare role.
Proficient in typing, Windows, and experience with multiple computer systems.
Vaccination against Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella required; flu shot recommended/required per season.

Responsibilities

Be the first point of contact for patients and their families.
Verify all required patient and insurance information and enter into the registration system accurately.
Schedule patient appointments, referrals, and diagnostic procedures.
Greet patients professionally in person and over the telephone and set the tone for the visit.
