Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a per diem Registration Clerk to greet patients, verify demographics and insurance, collect patient responsibilities, and complete registrations for walk-ins and scheduled visits. The role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, with a pay range of $19.80 to $29.70 per hour.

Typically requires 1 year of customer service or clerical experience, and familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid policies and EPIC is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Typically requires 1 year of experience in customer service or clerical/office work.
• Prior exposure to insurance verification or pre-certification processes is a plus.
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients for appointments.
• Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information.
• Collect patient responsibility per pre-registration and at time of service.
• Assist with walk-in registrations and schedule future visits.
• Explain insurance expectations and aid in financial counseling when needed.
• Maintain data accuracy and proper documentation in the EMR and billing systems.
