Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Registration Specialist to support the BayArea - Registration team. The role involves greeting patients, completing registrations for walk-ins, verifying insurance, and collecting patient responsibilities at the point of service.

Qualifications

• Typically requires 1 year of experience in customer service or clerical/office work.
• Knowledge of Medicare, HIPAA, EMTALA rules and insurance pre-certification requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Greets and checks in patients arriving for appointments and collects patient responsibility.
• Completes registration for walk-ins and updates demographics and insurance information.
• Verifies benefits, determines patient responsibility and explains payment expectations at time of service.
• Identifies patients needing financial assistance and coordinates with Financial Advocate.
