Job summary

Northwest Health is seeking a Registrar to support patient care by accurately capturing demographic and insurance information through in-person and telephone interactions. The role schedules procedures, captures required authorizations, and maintains organized patient records while delivering exceptional customer service.

The Registrar will verify insurance, obtain authorizations, pre-register patients, and communicate with physician offices.

Qualifications

• Post secondary education or training in medical office administration or healthcare administration preferred.
• 0-2 years of healthcare experience including patient registration, scheduling, or front desk/admissions.
• 0-2 years in a customer service role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with patients and families to address questions and provide courteous assistance.
• Regulates schedules based on procedure requirements and staffing needs; pre-registers patients with demographic info.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and secures necessary authorizations and verifications.
• Collects and records patient financial responsibility estimates as applicable.
• Maintains registration documentation and patient medical records; informs patients of financial obligations.
• Answers and returns phone calls with professionalism and courtesy.
• Maintains regular attendance and complies with policies.
