Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in healthcare registration or front desk.
• Post secondary education in medical/healthcare administration preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance verification and basic medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients and families to address questions and provide courteous, timely assistance.
• Coordinate schedules based on procedure requirements and staffing needs.
• Register patients by obtaining accurate demographic information and pre-registering where applicable.
• Verify insurance eligibility and capture correct health insurance details.
• Collect and record patient financial responsibility estimates.
• Communicate operative reports to physician offices as needed.
• Maintain registration documentation and patient medical records.
• Collect co-pays or deductibles and inform patients of financial obligations.
• Assist patients with understanding insurance requirements and questions.
• Document consent forms appropriately when patients cannot sign.
• Ensure proper patient identification before leaving the department.
• Answer and return phone calls professionally.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
