Brown University Health is seeking a Referral Specialist who reports to a Patient Access Manager. Under supervision, ensures the quality of the referral process and coordinates processing and scheduling of all incoming referrals according to timelines.

You will review referrals for completeness, verify demographics, insurance and authorizations, communicate with providers and patients, and document all interactions in the EHR while maintaining high customer service and accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school degree or the equivalent.

Responsabilités

• Receives and reviews all incoming referrals ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Ensures all information is received including patient demographics, insurance and authorizations.
• Communicates promptly with referring providers and patients about insurance coverage issues.
• Evaluates referrals using clinic guidelines for complete/compliant information.
• Returns incomplete referrals to referring physician with reason for return.
• Documents communication with patients/providers in the EHR.
