Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, 1–2 years related experience or training.
• Medical Assistant Registry or Certification, or LPN license preferred and in good standing (Michigan).
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 coding; strong computer skills; able to manage referrals and billing data.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate referral activity across patients, physicians, specialists, and insurance.
• Manage EHR referral/work queues according to provider preference and patient needs.
• Obtain accurate billing and demographic information; ensure prior authorization per payer guidelines.
• Communicate delays or denials to the ProHealth team and employer; participate in case management meetings.
• Process referrals by CPT/ICD-9 coding; schedule and track Digestive Health referrals as needed.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and deliver high-level customer service in a team setting.
