Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED required
• Associate's Degree preferred
• 2 years experience in a clinical healthcare position related to patient financial services, registration or scheduling
• Knowledge of computers and MS Windows applications
• Typing speed of at least 30 WPM
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and good math/analytical skills
• Knowledge of medical terminology

Responsibilities

• Process patient accounts from scheduling to pre-bill editing completion
• Schedule services and verify/collect comprehensive data set
• Verify insurance and pre-certification; calculate patient liabilities
• Provide financial education and finalize financial resolution with patients
• Identify and resolve pre-bill edit failures per policies and regulations
• Ensure compliance with JACHO, Medicare, payer contracts, and other authorities
• Explain forms and signatures to patients and obtain necessary consent signatures
• Screen registrations for sensitive diagnoses and obtain required releases
• Remind patients about required information, co-pays, and deductibles
