You will ensure accurate and timely submissions to third-party payers, maintain compliance with laws and contracts, and maximize cash flow. You will identify and appeal denied or underpaid claims, collaborate with clinical departments for medical necessity, and implement improvements to reduce denials and improve customer

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
• 2 years experience in a clinical healthcare setting or revenue cycle environment.

Responsibilities

• Generates re-bills after edits are resolved and re-submits to payors.
• Identifies missing or incorrect requirements of rejected claims for resolution.
• Completes manual billing for claims that cannot be sent electronically.
• Resolves electronic claim edit failures and coordinates with clearinghouse for corrections.
• Writes appeals to obtain payment and coordinates with clinical departments for medical necessity.
• Follows up with payers on appeals until issues are resolved.
• Analyzes denials and underpayments to improve processes and reduce denials.
• Gathers attachments and supports audits for insurance claims as needed.
• Communicates updates to staff and coordinates with management on process improvements.
