Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare Inc. seeks a patient services leader for the Culinary Service department. You will direct daily operations, partner with nursing on therapeutic diets, and train staff to ensure safe, high-quality meals. This role emphasizes cost-effective, value-driven care in a hospital setting.

You will implement clinical best practices, uphold food safety standards, and support quality improvement initiatives while guiding teams toward exceptional patient experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Service, Dietetics, Nutrition or Management; Registered Dietitian credential required within 6 months of hire.
• Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work (Utah/Idaho states) and ServSafe within 90 days if not current.
• Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse team with strong communication skills.
• Experience with word processing, complex spreadsheets, database applications, internet/e-mail and scheduling tools.
• Demonstrated involvement in quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operations of patient meal services in the hospital.
• Collaborates with nursing to align patient meal planning with therapeutic diets.
• Leads and trains frontline staff on diets per provider orders and safety standards.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and cost-effective service delivery.
• Manages human resources activities: hiring, training, mentoring, evaluating, and disciplinary actions.
• Monitors food safety and quality metrics, addresses patient dietary concerns.
