The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, about one year of healthcare receptionist or customer service experience, and familiarity with medical terminology and ICD-10/CPT codes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year experience as receptionist or clerk in healthcare environment or customer service.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT codes.
• Medical assistant or medical office technician certification preferred.
• Proficient computer skills; basic Microsoft Office skills; Excel familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephones promptly and courteously; routes calls to appropriate area.
• Schedules and cancels appointments; arranges outpatient tests and surgeries.
• Greets patients and visitors in a professional, welcoming manner.
• Registers patients; verifies demographics and insurance information.
• Collects co-pays and balances; supports day-end processes and batch reconciliation.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and informs patients of privacy policies.
