Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience as receptionist or clerk in healthcare or 1 year customer service.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT codes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Medical assistant or medical office technician certification preferred.
• Proficient computer skills; basic Microsoft Office; familiarity with Excel.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors professionally and welcomingly.
• Answer telephones promptly and route calls to appropriate areas.
• Schedule and cancel appointments; prepare new patient charts.
• Register patients and verify demographic and insurance information.
• Assist with HIPAA compliance and documents; handle check-in/out procedures.
• Collect co-pays and outstanding balances; refer past-due balances to billing.
• Process referrals, authorizations, and day-end financial batches.
