Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a formal Medical Assistant training program preferred.
• Experience handling confidential information in a fast-paced environment.
• Medical Assistant Certification and BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Supports the patient and provider throughout the patient visit.
• Ensures the patient and provider are prepared for the visit.
• Answers patient questions prior to leaving; prepares room for next appointment.
• Provides excellent patient service through communication by phone and in person.
• Completes patient registration documentation as needed.
• Maintains clinical knowledge, skills, and credentials through ongoing development.
• Complies with the Department of Transportation Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Programs if working in an occupational health clinic.
• Adapts communication to the specific patient population while respecting privacy.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
