Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a per diem Unit Coordinator to support patient flow and daily operations in our Boston area units.

You will partner with nurses and clinicians, coordinating admissions, discharges and transfers, while delivering high-level customer service to patients and families. The role requires strong communication skills, basic computer use, and a flexible weekend schedule to meet operational needs.

Qualifications

• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Prior customer service experience.
• Basic familiarity with computers; ability to navigate web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates patient flow through the unit and coordinates admissions with registry, nursing staff and admission facilitator.
• Answers patient call lights promptly and greets patients, families, visitors and staff while providing non-clinical information.
• Uses unit information systems for bed tracking, orders and patient flow; resolves IS issues as needed.
• Maintains basic competency in troubleshooting printers, copiers and fax machines and ensures proper charging for supplies and equipment.
• Manages the unit's lost belongings tracking and provides summaries to Operations Coordinator.
